Person Description

Florian Blum was an Economics PhD student at the London School of Economics and a visiting fellow at EPoD. He worked with Professor Rohini Pande and Dr. Adnan Khan on a study that explored organizational practices in tax administrations. Florian’s research interest focuses on the determinants of state capacity and the organisation of the public sector in developing countries. In addition to his work at EPoD, Florian is leading a study that investigates the optimal control of public sector workers in Tanzania. Florian has a Master's in Economics from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economics from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. He is a scholar of the German National Academic Foundation and has in the past consulted for the World Bank and the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations.
