Smita Das was a Research Fellow studying female participation in public work schemes and the use of fertilizer in Bangladesh. She has conducted research on the labor market for domestic work in India, founded a nonprofit market clearing agency for domestic workers, and managed a nonprofit program in foreclosure prevention. Smita holds a BA in Mathematical Economic Analysis and Public Policy with International Affairs from Rice University and an MA in Economics from Boston College.
