Raj Vasta
Raj Vatsa is a 5th-year student in the Harvard/MIT MD-PhD Program, having completed his first two years of medical school prior to enrolling in the PhD Program in Health Policy. Raj graduated from Harvard College in 2018 with an A.B. in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Global Health and Health Policy. Undergraduate research experiences in applied causal inference and early clinical training in maternal fetal medicine cultivated Raj’s passion for maternal health policy and health equity in the U.S. and abroad. His current research interests – spanning both experimental and quasi-experimental domains – involve leveraging causal inference and machine learning methods to advance evidence based maternal care and improve maternal and newborn health outcomes, particularly among vulnerable populations.
