Peter is a PhD student in the Economics department at Harvard. He works in behavioral and development economics, with interests in charitable giving, commitment devices, and agriculture, and a regional focus on East Africa. He is currently studying the motivations for donors' provision of in-kind vs cash assistance to the global poor, using experimental economic methods and fieldwork in Kenya. Prior to joining Harvard, Peter was a research assistant for Melissa Dell at the National Bureau of Economic Research and for Michael Kremer at Innovations for Poverty Action. He studied applied mathematics, economics, and computer science at Harvard for his bachelor's degree.
