Awa Ambra Seck is a third year PhD student in Political Economy. She received her master in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University and, prior to that, she received her Bachelor from the University of Turin. She’s a Collegio Carlo Alberto Alumna and a Marco Fanno Foundation Alumna.
Her research focuses on the interdependence of culture and economic incentives. On the one hand, she is interested on how the different cultural characteristics of ethnic group in Sub-Saharan Africa persist and shape economic decisions. On the other hand, she is trying to understand what are the obstacles to economic and social integration that African refugees and asylum seekers face once they arrive in Europe, with a particular attention to the role played by beliefs, misperceptions and pro-sociality.
