McIntyre, freelance writer Recent advances in technology and storage capacity have led to the creation of huge datasets that could potentially serve as solid foundations for evidence-based, intelligently designed public policy. However, much of this data sits in storage. For data to be useful it must be accessible – researchers and policymakers must be able to search the data easily based on specific indicators. How can government ministries initiate the creation of such interfaces?
Forty five participants from 29 countries will take part in "Rethinking Financial Inclusion: Smart Design for Policy and Practice, a new Executive Education program at Harvard Kennedy School. The program will focus on frameworks for smart design of financial inclusion products and policies.
Faculty co-Chairs Rohini Pande and Asim Ijaz Khwaja, co-directors of Evidence for Policy Design (EPoD), developed the program, which will feature lectures by Harvard faculty, field researchers, and financial inclusion experts.
